Alpine Wilderness Tour

Departing from our depot at 8:30am you will travel north for about 20 minutes before turning west en route for the valleys below the towering mountains of the Two Thumb Range.

When the rivers allow we travel via the Ruapuna region and across private property to eventually enter the Ashburton Gorge where we travel through the newly created Hakatere Conservation Park, then on past Lakes Camp and Clearwater into the upper Rangitata Valley.

You will enjoy a variety of interesting landscapes including magnificent views over the Canterbury Plains from the sea to the mountains, boulder strewn terraces, rolling downs, huge river valleys and tussock covered hills as we travel along on our way to ‘Erewhon Station’.

Experience being the only ones in this vast expansive valley with huge mountains towering over 4000 feet above you.
