Full Day Tour - Itinerary
- Explore the area that has become well
known through the writings of Mona Anderson and her books 'A River Rules My Life' and 'The Good Logs of Algidus'.

Departing Geraldine at 8:00am, we travel up the Rakaia Gorge to the west end of Lake Coleridge where we will enjoy morning tea.

From here we cross the mighty Wilberforce River onto Mt Algidus Station.
and follow the old bridle track with tremendous river and bush views .

After lunch we will travel through the station to a vantage point that takes in some magnificent views of the upper Rakaia Gorge area, Mathius River valley, the northern end of the Arrowsmith Range and Manuka Point Station.

From here we move back through the station yard passing the old buildings and down past the old homestead that Mona & Ron Anderson lived in.

Crossing over the Wilberforce River we travel on past Mt Oakden and Peak Hill Stations to Lake Coleridge where the Intake that feeds the Coleridge Power Station can be seen.

Here we take in a wonderful view up the lake to the head of the Wilberforce River before travelling down through the old Power Station village on our return to Geraldine, arriving back around 5:30pm.
